Upgrading the turbo on 300tdi

Hello people!

I'm nearing the end of my project of getting a 300tdi (from a '94 Disco) into my 1989 200tdi. Because the old knackered engine was already a changed one (Nissan, non turbo) there was already a nice big radiator in there and no ontercooler or oil cooler, so now, as part of this engine swap, I've put in a big intercooler and also a new oil cooler.

The guys helping to put the thing together said that there isn't much you can do to the turbo itself as it's part of the manifold... so my question is can you get an aftermarket turbo upgrade for it from somewhere? I found Allard Turbo Sport on the net, but their kits seem to assume you're going from standard and I've already got the intercooler changed etc. Plus I live in Finland so I can't really take the car to them - I was thinking more of buying a better turbo and fitting it here.

Any ideas?

The 300 turbo will give you all the boost the engine will stand, unless you uprate pistons etc.

Oh... So maybe stick to the uprated intercooler etc for now then. I'll ask the guys at Allard what they do when they uprate the turbo.

yep, dont tweak the turbo on a 300 unless you want trouble
