There are loads of posts on this I chased a problem for 18 months in the end I replaced the swivel balljoints all bushes track rod ends and drag link both front wheel bearings all the shocks and airbags seems drastic but in the end I have hurricanes on pirrellis with virtually no tread and also a set of 19 in wheels from a sport and now the tread is low they were nearly new when I did the lot and there is no tram lining with either set of wheels on any road I have also tried a mix of air pressures and even hurricanes on the front and sports on the back and she drives straight with no probs in all instances. The point i am making is as has been said on here many times the p38 is sensitive and you will only get a true ride for any length of time while the components are all relatively new so dont be surprised if it drifts off as one of the other components wears you have to keep on top of it and check them all regularly . Sounds like you have it for now good luck

Gotta admit, mine wobbles horribly if I hit a bump in the middle of a corner. Have pirelli scorpions all round, will prob change the steering damper first.
What's the general opinion on tyre pressures?

I lowered the pressure in the rears from the standard figures because the ride was too harsh at the back! Running 225/55 18s on triplesport wheels.

had the same problem, changed damper and bushes to poly. problem went away but ride was a little jittery. changed poly bushes to back to rubber and everything smoothed out. i'm on yokohama geolander at/s which are fantastic both to look at and drive on and not that expensive. but i don't know if sold in the Uk.

Any one with the dreaded "death wobble" problem should look at all front suspension bushes first, and have them checked out asap, mine looked quite good but on closer inspection even although they looked "newish" when they were being replaced one side litterly fell out of housings, the were all replaced with new nylon bushings what a differance to drive now and by the way nexons all round now

I don't suppose you did this job yourself did you ? I've got a set waiting to be fitted to mine and I want to make up a press tool for squashing the new ones in but I need to know the diameter of the hole in the arm. I know it's small than the new bush but don't know how much.

does any one know if the rear window washer has its own supply bottle or is it fed from the same bottle as front windscreen
Same bottle separate pump. Two pumps, or three pumps if you have headlamp wipers, you can see them from underneath the car. Easier to get at with the front bumper off. If the water level is low, the rear washer stops working to save the remaining water for the front. Fill the bottle up before you go looking for problems.

I have also found that the rear screen washer has a detremental effect on my rangies handling....... ffs:blabla:

More than likely caused as the washer fluid swashes around in the unbaffled tank causing uncontrolable body roll unless the stiffer Britpart shockers are fitted. Does the badly designed washer fluid tank have the same disasterous effect in coil sprung P38s i wonder.:D:D:D

BIGGLEDOM - haven't you heard of the problems lack of baffling can have in Rangies? If your rad isn't baffled you get overheating and if your washer bottle isn't baffled it can throw the front of your car across the road. If the driver's not baffled he hasn't come across any of the 'interesting' faults that these cars throw up.
