Well in all my years I've never seen anything like what I found today.

I've got the engine out of my 110, mainly to change the spigot bearing and sort out the exhaust manifold.

But I always have a problem of putting things back dirty, so cleaned the engine and decided to change all the gaskets.
Took dump off and saw a sticker flap around, then saw another sticking out of the oil strainer, pulled that out then found another on the gauze of the oil strainer

Looked up the part number, Unipart Oil filter, googled images and can see the sticker, won't be using those in future.

Fantastic! Good job you found them and got them out. I try to make sure I've peeled any stickers off the centrifugal filter cartridge before clamping the lid back down on the filter housing. It's a bit daft of suppliers to put stickers on components like this anyway. It's probably worth poking out the pipe from the sump to the filter housing in case there are any more lodged in there.

I agree, common sense say a sticker soaked in oil and being spun around isn't going to last long.
I've taken the whole filter and cooler off as changing all the gaskets, going to have a good poke around.
Going to start a like thread of the jobs I'm doing as there are plenty, it will slowly become my daily driver/ family camper.

wot he said!

then dont buy unipart!

centri filters nowadays have info printed on them, its cheaper to manufacture, of course there will still be loads of old type still in circulation (excuse the pun) and on ebay etc so give them a swerve!

Blimey that’s pretty crappy dude, I’d be pretty upset if I saw that In my sump but there is worse things to be in there I suppose
