I tried searching this but didnt really find much of an answer so here goes...

Will need to get some new tyres for the landy at some stage, and will be going for AT's most likely

I'm not going oversize so they will be 205/r16.

Anyone recommend tyres in that size?

Found possibilities:

Kuhmo KL78 Road Venture AT

Falken Landair AT

And MT's

Kuhmo KL71

Maxxis Trepador

Any thoughts on those tyres?

I know AT are really designed for 50% road / 50% off road
What are MT aimed at?

What sort of mileage would you get out of an AT or an MT tyre?

Thanks in advance...

Hi and welcome,

What type of Landy? 90/110/series?
Why 205 16's?

235/85 16's handle nicely and are near to the metric equalivent of the standard Landy (Defender type) rim.

AT ( 50/50% up to 80/20% on road, depending on type)
MT (more nearer the 70/80% off road)

Depends on how you use/abuse them; my Grabber AT2's have done 23k and about half worn. Some say you get near 110k for a set of BFG's, don't know for sure though. Other AT's, Cooper discovery are good, Pirelli etc any of the top brands really, just depends on what you want and how much £££ you got to spend.

As for MT's, only drove about 2k on my Colways, good tyre, sounded nice, but a little skittish on wet tarmac.

I heard good things about the new BFG MT's though, and they have a very thick sidewall.

If you going off-road a lot, buy a set of each, just depends on what you want.

Know doubt someone far more knowledgeable will be along soon.

Hope ti helps, Cheers, Mark
