Hi all

I bought a set of 17" alloys (3 spoke ones) cheap off fleabay and want to fit them to my 2001 TD4 GS, at the moment it has 15" alloys with 195/80/15 tyres on them.
What size tyres would you use on the 17" alloys taking into account its mainly used on road 80% of the time the other on farm tracks and grass.

I have noticed that the sport models seem to have 215/55/17 as rule of thumb, I was wondering if I could get away with 225/70/17 or would it catch the arches.

Many thanks
EvO

Standard size is 225/55/17 on a FL. Any higher profile and/or width and you run the risk of fouling the shocks.
Hope you dont intend fitting all terrain/mud tyres as you can't buy them in 17" to fit a FL. Road tyres only.
