Posted elsewhere for feedback on the choice - I’m thinking of kitting my Freelander mk1 with BF Goodrich Urban Terrain tyres (I should get a hefty discount, hence the choice). They are 3 peak rated etc. Anyone had any experience on them?
I understand the correct OE size for my TD4 HSE is 225/55/17 - the BFs come in 235/55/17, which would be close enough on the circumference to not matter and not bugger up my IRD etc.

Many on here mention the Geolanders - but I can’t see anything near my size… what size Geolanders do you guys run on 17” rims?

TIA

Got 225/65 x 17 GO13 on mine.
Good all purpose tyre. Wet, mud, dry tarmac.

Diameter 28.5 inch. Speedo calibrated for 28.6 inch so nearly spot on.

Oh goodie, another tyre size thread

Although, I found today 1 of our camper cars is on Toyo tyres, so hoping I can get myself a good deal on some Toyo Open Country A/T II :D

which would be close enough on the circumference to ... not bugger up my IRD

So long as the tyres aren't for a go kart (on 10" diameter on 5" rims and spin at high RPM even on slow sharp turns), they aren't going to affect your IRD... so long as you have the same on all 4 wheels.

Ah ok - thanks for that. Good to know.
I see so much online about what you ‘should’ and ‘shouldn’t’ run on a Freelander because of the drivetrains!

…and these run fine with no adjustments anywhere required?
Must admit, it looks a better tyre than the BFG!

There are loads of tyres out there. Nobody has tried them all, so people can only comment on a very very narrow spectrum of what is available.

Well, off the back of the info on this forum, I’ve changed my mind and ordered 5 Yokohama GO15s in a 225/65.
New rubber being fitted next Friday.

Will report back - assuming wife doesn’t see the bank statement!

You can't go far wrong with those. Many of us have used them and are more than happy with them.
My Freelander 2 will get a set too, if I ever wear out the Chinese things that are on there at the moment. This assumes I don't keep the i6 Freelander 2 I've just bought.
