Tyre Sizes on Classic

Hi All,

I'm about to get some new boots for my classic.

Anyone put 265/65R16's on a classic - I found some Uniroyal Rallye 4x4 sport im my local tyre place at a very reasonable price (£75 each).....
They are a good match on radius/height - but I'm worried about the width.....

Also - as an off road set, I'm thinking 235/70R16's = AVON Ranger A/T's - anyone had any experience with these - or a better reccomendation for £60???

What rims are you putting them on to?
I stuck similar sized tyres on a set of after market steel rims and had terrible trouble with the tyres rubbing on the rear arches, Had to do a hacksaw job to prevent damage. I also had an issue with wide tyres on std front alloys where the tyre would rub on the chassis (trailing arm?) at full lock.

I can see a lot of cutting and pulling coming your way, unless.... even tho I dont agree with it .... put a 2inch lift of your suspension.

I am having 235/70-16 all round on std 3 spoke alloys with 30mm wheel spacer. Nothing's rubbing so far

By putting 265's on....you will be adding 15mm either side of the rim..so should be okay......if the front rubs at full lock...it can be adjusted easy...

Anyone ever fitted 245. 85. R16 on RRC with standard height springs?

Will they fit?

Standard alloys at the moment - no lift at all - and don't want to.

I'm not too bothered by maybe a slightly reduced steering lock - or fitting some spacers - but I'd like to keep the arches standard.

Might get em to fit one and see how it fits on each wheel station....
