Tyre pressures - larger tyres

I've just upgraded to BF Goodrich ATs. They are 215/70/16s. Put 32 psi in all round but they look a bit low... feel ok driving but look low particularly on the front.

What do folk recommend as tyre pressures for this size? Car is otherwise a standard 2005 TD4.

Start with the factory pressure and see how it goes. I find that my Yokohama AT/s tyres are best at 32 psi.
Higher pressure causes the centre of the tread to wear faster than the edges. If I run them at under 30 psi the edges take a pounding.
Mine also look low, particularly the fronts. This is normal for radial tyres to look a bit low even if they aren't.
It's going to be a bit of trial and error I'm afraid ;)

Trouble is they're non factory size tyres so no recommended pressures.

Look great though especially on the black rims - in my opinion.

What are the BF tyres like on Tarmac? And do they affect fuel economy?

The General Grabber AT I have fitted aren't as good on Tarmac as my UHP (road biased tyre) I had before and they are slightly noisier and also use slightly more fuel. I would expect the BF ones to be even worse.

Epicuser - I've only had them on for less than 24 hours, so I cannot comment on fuel economy. I can't imagine it making a massive difference. On the road, the handling is no different from the Marshal Road Ventures on the 225/55/17s that I had on before... if not slightly better. Reference noise, they have an appalling dB score, but to be honest, I haven't noticed anything... that said, it's a Land Rover... not a car I bought for refinements and luxury, so there are probably numerous rattles and grumbles I don't even notice anymore.

Kizzeh - No... it's probably a combination of light factors and the fact they are brand new.

I run (whet is's running ) my 215/70 15 insa rangers at 36psi, owt less and the drag is noticalbe.

What pressure to run tyres at is very individual to the vehicle, tyre size and tyre design.
There are loads of variables involved. Like I said. Start at 30psi the see how it feels and watch the tread wear.

No idea, I'm afraid... a local garage did them... All five sanded and painted, tyres fitted and balanced and wheels fitted to car. £120. I didn't think that was three bad!
