I am looking to change the tyres on my Disco to something a little more offroad friendly....

It is my daily drive but I am also looking to do some greenlaning and pay and play in it. :)

Suspension is all standard at the moment and I am not planning on lifting it so I am trying to decide on whether to fit stock 235/70x16 or possibly 225/75x16 or even 255/70x16?

I cannot find any info on the 255 option on here to see if any body mods are required apart from lock stops?

All opinions appreciated good or bad :D

Cheers, Andy

Got Grabber AT2's on my 2004 TD5, 255/65/16 with no lift. They fill the arches and seem to work well on and off road. Been through all the snow in rural Oxfordshire and round the Abingdon 4x4 course several times with no problems...

you wont fit anything wider than 235 on a disco one with out body mods

245/70/16's should fit without mods, might rub a bit on full lock though.

As for tyre's the Grabber AT2's are the dog's nuts, been through all sort's (standard set-up) and not got stuck yet.

BFG AT's or GG AT2's

That question has been on here sooooooooo many times and you won't get people to change their preference.
Check out tread patterns they are similar and no one says either are crap, if they have them fitted. Basically personal choice pays your money take your choice

As to sizes have a read of http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/what-tires-can-i-put-my-disco-43706.html

I have 245/70R16 GG A/T2's standard suspension etc. just had to adjust stop locks, fills the wheel arches perfectly and gives almost an inch extra ground clearance

Best mod I did on elmer up to now :p ;)
