tyre help

i am running 31 10.50 r15's at the moment but the rims are 16's. is it normal to get smaller tyres??

also if i did increase my tyre to a 16 rim would i gain an inch overall

basically i haven't got any idea about tyres sizez and i've been sat here all day tyring to work out what size tyres to buy

15 inch tyres will not fit on 16 inch rims

doesnt the r stand for rim and the number "15" the size in inches?therefore r15 means you got 15 inch rims?
