Need new tyres for my freelander1 I have found some Insta turbo 215 65 r16 x4 £260 not inc fitting. Are these good? Does anyone have ant site or recommendations please?

If you want to drive a quiet vehicle, then avoid insa turbo tyres. They also lack grip on wet roads, so not an ideal choice for a family vehicle.
What are you going to be using the car for? Road, off road, occasional green lanes or mud plugging?

Yes mate it will be our family car. I want to be able to go out in snow green lanes maybe a little light mudding be safe on wet road. My wife will be using it dayly on roads.

In that case, you're better off with some good quality, road biased AT tyres. I think Pirelli Scorpion STR are about the best value do all tyre at the moment. They cost 50% more than budget radials, but will get the job done, regardless of the ground under them. ;)

I've just noticed that the cheapest place to get them fitted, is out of stock.

You can get them sent to you for £72 each, if you know somewhere local that can fit them?

Dont know if youve bought new tyres yet but Im using Yokohama Geolandar G015's on my Jeep grand cherokee and I think theyre a great tyre, excellent in the snow we had last year in scotland.
Ive just put a set on my wifes new Freelander 1 TD4, cost about £76 each for that size.

Geolanders are good tyres. The Geolander G012 get noisy after a few K miles and suffer from sawtoothing too. This requires them to be swapped side to side at regular intervals. Hopefully G015s don't suffer those issues. Otherwise they are a good do anything tyre.

Ive not tried the G012's but not had any uneven wear / sawtoothing issues with the G015 and they dont seem to have increased in noise any in the year or so ive had them on although i do rotate my tyres front to back every 6 months or so.

Sorry. I should have said that the G012 noise and sawtoothing is a Freelander issue. It's due to the constant gentle drag from the VCU. There should be an issue with them fitted to other vehicle types.
