I came across this "
I add 100ml of two stroke to a 40 litre fill od fuel so the proportion is tiny, but it seems to me that the extra little bit of lubrication which is helpful though not essential."
Adding two stroke oil, never heard of that before do any of you people do this ? says makes engine quieter and starts better ?

i used to with my v8 as i put what wasnt used from the boat in the tank ,it did run better

No but seeing as typing 2 stroke td5 into google brings up about 20 threads from the site it seems a bit silly asking
so does every question asked , you could do the same with staring v8 its all there somewhere ,people often like to ask rather than use a library ;)

it is there somewhere ,how to check timing etc ,the point is you wanted to discuss it ,if you have to tow/bump start it you aint fixed it ;)

local mech said when some of the old fords came off the line nothing but a bump start would make them fire up for the first time :p after that they'd be perfect off the starter but its the first one after being built thats the bastard :D

cant do much else to mine though I's done everything bar the bump start or hot plug treatment other than fitting a high torque starter (pretty sure mines not weak)

For what it's worth, I run strokes oil in my diesel and it runs a lot better for it. Modern fuel has less sulphur content so lubrication is an issue.

Yes there are lots of threads on this subject. Yes it is lazy not to search. Yes I like landyzone because you can be idle now and again and still get an answer.

Perhaps we should have a bigger search button?

We could but I bet no one would use it

If you had noticed too when you start a new thread in one of the tech forums on here it actually gives you related topics to your title to check out before you post too! Lazy gits :p
