Help please I have searched but cant find a solution so here we go passenger front door wont lock on central locking or key fob but if I press the button down it will lock and unlock all doors -from reading on here sounds like the motor has gone but at the same time the drivers front door is doing the opposite it is locking and unlocking on the key fob but when I press down the button it does nothing both these faults arrived this morning after taking the nearside front doorcard off and re riveting the window mechanism have checked all wiring and all seems fine any ideas???

right have stripped down he lock all seems ok however there is a brown cog on a spindle which I assume is the electric motor I could not get this to activate also it seemed unattached in that no physical connection - does this operate by creating a magnetic field ? anyway it locks everything except the front near side door on the remote if I push the button down on the door it locks all so my guess is the motor is fooked - it is showing an alarm fault which I am putting down to the lock also the interior light does not go out automatically so with all this is it the 0utstation? as ever any help much appreciated

It sounds very much like your locking motor. These can't be replaced on their own. You have to replace the whole lock assembly - quite expensive at around £120 or so unless you get one from a scrapper - you could try Emmotts of Colne - details:-

Are you sure your drivers door problem only started yesterday? How often do you use the lock button on the drivers door? If it's locking OK on the fob (and the key??), it's more than likely just the linkage that's come adrift.

did you strip the whole lock mech down, taking the 6 or so small screws out? then you have to plug it in to the loom and fiddle with the motor type thing, they seem to stck very easily!!

i revived mine this way!!

try it for what its worth!!

Update did as you said Gav and the motor runs but ony if started in the same place so guess the actuator is gone so will have to replace thanks again at least I know its gone and the motor is the prob
