turbo pipe

hello as you know iv got a 200tdi and i noticed the pipe between the two silicone hoses seems to restrict airflow by having a pressed section... if i replace this with a straight through piece (obv with the bend) but no pressed section will i benefit in anyway? a friend has replaced his but is in the middle of doing his timing belt so hasnt tested it out yet....

anyone? if it doesnt cause any damage ill stick it on and have a go... let you all know

I know the piece you are referring to and I doubt the change to a round pipe will give any advantage to be honest.

I reckon the LR pipe is a round one which has been flattened therefore the internal volume has not decreased, it's just the shape that has altered to accomodate the suspension turret.

I think you would get more benefit putting in a new air filter to be honest.
