Hi
My turbo hose has a split some where and I'm getting loads of black smoke and oil round the front area
Can anyone tell me what revs a freelander TDI4s turbo cuts in??
I'm away from home on holiday and the local garage cant do it and suggested I drive home slowly before the turbo cuts in???
Urgent assistance required please !!:( It's 125 miles to home.

Engine load is also a factor with regard to turbo boost (its not just rpm). Just drive it gently, if you overdo it it will probably go in to 'limp mode' and power will be limited (but it will carry one running) If this happens pull over somewhere safe and stop / restart engine to clear the limp mode. Depending upon the size of the split will dictate when limp mode kicks in so it will be a bit of a learning lesson.

Well did you make it? Good to leave your experiences on here for anyone else searching for same answer in the future
