tuning tips

hi everyone, is there anyone who has any qiuck & easy tuning tips on my 98 disco 300 tdi its my first disco & i love it to bits already but i need a little more power if poss

A large intercooler and some fuel pump adjustments will sort it

is it auto or manual ?
has it got aircon ?

Also Get Rid Of The Cat And Viscous Fan Fit A K&n Air Filter Performance Turbo Hoses

cant agree more fit the lot pipes intercooler bin that cat put full bore exhaust on get pump tweeked uprate your brakes and ENJOY

Thought I would hitch a ride on this thread. I have a 1998 300tdi with aircon. What types of power upgrade are available to me and where can I source the bits. Would prefer to carry out the mods myself as much as poss so no re-mapping at this stage

Excuse my ignorance but if you bin the CAT can you still pass the MOT on emmissions ?? (spelling)

Whilst on the subject of mods - I tow a twin axle caravan so the increase in power would be great - what about the suspension would you upgrade? if so how?

not to sure on the emmisons side of things cos mine is a 200tdi with no cat

but i have met and spoke to a few people who used to have cat and now running sports full bore systems thats all but not sure cos i dident need to worrie about it myself
i got my kit from www.twistedperformance.co.uk that was an uprated intercooler pipework and sports exhaust system with k&n filter and i know that they do all the replacement hurricane chips for your model there take look also at www.jeremeyjfern.co.uk and he does simmilar kits as well as re-mapping ecus ect..
could also try someone like www.allisport.co.uk and www.bellautos.co.uk i think are suppling intercoolers and kits all the normal mags lroi landrover enthuisats landrover monthly have all got many adverts but to tell truth have had no problem with kit is first class top quality and is very easy to fit although i did drive up to thirsk and the guys at maddison 4x4 fitted for me i was there and its realy easy to fit and twisted performance well i would recomend to anybody very honest and easy to deal with first class product

Yes as we dont use a cat tester for the mot on a deisel car , so removing it is not a problem.

If you have a 300 tdi manual you will prob find that you dont need any ecu or electronic upgrades as most of the 300 series are mehacnical adjust .Normaly only autos or very late 300's are needing the electronic upgrade kits.

If you are only using it on the road mainly for towing i would sujest you get some heavy duty standard springs this is all you will ever need for day to day driving and towing.

I do sell the drop in intercoolers just like the ones on other sites which are the easest to fit because they are just a direct replacement from the standard but with a larger hi flow core welded to the standard tanks.

Hi you may possibily be lucky then cos all the manuals ive ever done DONT need a tuning box or chip to adjust the fuling.

so just a hi flow intercooler will make a lot of difference with the mechanical adjustments to go with

Weather it be a standard drop in cooler with a hi flow core OR a full size front intercooler .

anybody any offers on how to 'tune' a landrover 2.25 petrol (1967) (except change it for a v8!) ie. twin carb manifold.
unfortunatly it is a pushrod so it may limit my options.
