Pull up the seat bottom. Undo the latch and lift off the seat box lid.

got the seat box open, found battery. Had a guy come today to fit the alarm and he showed me.
Im sure i would have found it though!
And i looked for an ecu, no ecu in the battery compartment! the alarm guy has seen it, he said it was in the engine bay on the drivers side. couldnt see it, maybe he means behind the dash. Gotta get in there tomorrow anyway so ill see.
is behind the dash a "normal" place to hide an ecu? Sorry for the babble im just curious to see what it is and if there is a sticker or tag on it so i can maybe get more info on it.

If it ain't somebody's nicked it. Or the previous owner has spent a lot of money and extended the wiring harness to locate the ECU higher up so as it don't get wet when wading. The under seat box on the drivers side is exactly the same to get into as the battery box. Disco TD5s have the ECU under the bonnet.
