erm - I know where to get the drills - just wondered whether you use them, have any preferences as to sizes and wot you think of them?

Drill them out on the top layer of metal only using the 8mm drill bits. Then if the two pieces of metal dont seperate, gently tap your way along the welds from one end to the other with a sharp thin chisel to finish them off. If you try bending back and forth to seperate them after drilling or use too thick a chisel you will need to spend time reshaping the surfaces.

i've got a set with 4mm 6mm 8mm 10mm and 12mm

never used the 10 and 12 mm - allways tend to start with the 6 and if it's not seperated use the next size up - i'm allways a bit reluctant to use any form of wedge/chisel as it's very easy to distort the metal

other than buying the set i've only even had to replace the 6mm (lots) and 8mm (a few)

ok - so opening em up int a problem - even with the flat bottom. You dont go fur the 8mm to ensure that the weld is always removed - even tho that leaves a bigger hole to fill?

nope have found the 6mm will free most of them - might have to use the 8 on 2 outta 30 ish

but it'll probably depend on how that welder had been set on the day - i've seen lines of welds that look like there had all been done on a different setting or machine

if your only buying 1 then go for the 8mm
