Rather than asking loadsa questions all over the shop - thort I mite put them all in here..

First Q....

I have to remove the side strengthening sections on the inner wing. These are all spot welded on. I have seen both 6mm and 8mm Spot drills - Do you use these special drills and if so, any preferred sizes?

smaller the better, then there's less of a hole to fill - and big rivets (if that's what your going to use) make it look like a ships hull

nope -yu know the box section that is fitted against the outside of the inner wing - that has to be removed to replace the inner wing, so I dont want to hack it about - just drill out the spot welds, replace the inner wing panel and then reweld the box section (after suitable patching where necessary) back on through the spotweld holes.

Duz that make sense? I know wot i wanna do - its just describing it:rolleyes!

if the smaller spot drill does take out all of the weld then that's what i'd use - then less of a hole to refill

you'll not be wanting any from me cos i'm just taking a gearbox out with a view to a complete rebuild - and i only wanted to change the wiper blades

LRB - i sent yo a link to the other site where i am documenting it - if you want to see the sorta thing i do - look here or here.

I try to do a good job - just get frustrated when it dont go too well  - oh and it takes me ages!

i did check yer links out , and i'll check the others .... and good work takes ages dunt it ?? thats part of the fun...

which bit of your landy is this then, Sean ;)
