hi everyone

Having carried out quite a bit of renovation work to the defender, I am not happy at how the rear bar top fits to the body after it’s return from the paint shop.

can anyone point me to a page in a manual to show me the dimension that the gap between body to rear tub should be.

Also upon driving abouve 20mph a whine/whistle occurs that is a bit annoying, I have read that this may be clutch but??? Is there any other reasons? I have tried unsuccessfully to locate it at present

Thanks

Andrew

Hi,

Not sure what you mean??

Cheers

Hi Neilly Sorry for me explanation

Is there an expected gap from the top surface of the rear tub to the bottom edge of hard top when it is correctly fitted, like the door gap being 7-11mm depending on location?

The gap in places now that i have the car back is so big the seal is not being compressed so there is a gap that I feel is to large but I cannot tighten the four corners any tighter before the other bolts along the top sides so am wondering if I have something incorrectly fitted when body shop were reassembling

You've not got a roof rack have you? My roof bars play a tune if I drive around without a load on them. Equally, it could be the wind whistling through the gaps you appear to have!

Hi everyone

I’m trying to work out why this may not be alligned.

Can anyone send me a picture of the rear corner of their defender please

I am wondering if this thick washer has been put into the wrong place on rebuild after paint as I think this thickness would be all I need to make a seal.
