im after getting a locker for my landy. dont really use it on the road. have already got a kam lsd and want to put that in the front axel. i cant afford an arb so it leaves the detroit locker and the truetrack detroit locker. ive got a 3.9 defender and ive heard that the truetrack cant handle the torque or hard off roading but is cheaper than the detroit. has anyone had any gd or bad experiences with either and which would you recomend

the detroit truetrack is only a lsd diff.
while the detroit locker is what it says it is a locker, my mate used to have a one in the back and it kept snapping half shafts, now changed to a arb and none snapped yet.

Not a fan of ARB's seen to many failures at comps, Detroit lockers are strong reliable and(pre faulty batch of units) were almost indestructable. Arbs have air line which do rip off, crack puncture leaving you in the crap, KAM are better diffs but teh shafts are no good I have a detroit in the rear of my salisbury and I have broken one shaft BUT they were £30 Brit part replacement item and it took some grief at a challenge comp before it tweanged. Detroit all the way for cost vs locked axle. Again drive one first they have weird habits when cornering on the road.
