Truck cab rear window rattling!

Hey guys. My back window is rattling like crazy, the felt has rotted out. Is there any way of re-lining the runners so they are quiet again? They're driving me crazy:lalala:

dont think you can reline them - the runners are quite easy to do as an whole item

Are the rails an easy part to find? I've got to do it, it's really bugging me and I'm running out of paper to ram in there!

Paddocks used to do them, dunno if they're on the website though.

They used to do runner channels with new felt for all the sliding windows, you just had to cut it to length. At least, I think it was Paddocks, worth checking their website anyway or giving them a call.

i'd not expect them to be hard to find - the other option is to use some cut down spines of the type found in those stationary/paper binders - very thin flexi plastic u shaped strips

R they similar to the u shaped strips people used to use for hanging posters?

How about using the rubber foam draught excluder stuff

like these but the slimer u shaped versions

Yeah - see wot u mean. They r in Coleford on my doorstep - P&P £6.50? Could bring them over to u cheaper than that.
Could do with some longer ones personally - cus I have reptiles n make my own enclosures so also have a sliding glass requirement....

No way! That's one of the few comfort features it has. In the summer you can't beat opening up the front vents and back windows. They have to function!

off with the roof in the summer

i used butile pond liner in mine, jus pushed it in. I grabbed the thin stuff, made it a touch stiffer to slide but worekd a treat.

Oh yeah and put some vaseline on it to make it slide at all

Rattling? It should have a thin layer of cultivated moss growing in the runners to dampen vibration and prevent movement, if yours hasn't got some you'll need to buy some more from Land Rover. I don't think it's expensive.

If you have got moss growing on your tits, i dont think you will get many takers.

Daft - I shave it every day - I use one of them hard skin for feet jobbies cus my razor can t handle it - any ideas?

I'll try the pond liner trick. I'm a landscaper so I'm sure I've got some hanging around somewhere. I tried to use capilary matting on the last one but I couldn't get it in (too big you see).
