Hi Guys, am currently turning my landy into a trayback and i want to move the fuel tank from underneath the drivers seat to between the chassis rails just behind the rear bulkhead and roll cage hoop. Anyone got any suggestions on where to get a tank? have had a quick google but was wondering if anyone had already done this or nos someone who has so i make sure i get one that will be easy to connect up etc etc. Cheers Pete

another option could be to mount a plastic boat fuel tank. They are generally square or rectangular shaped and come in a large range of sizes/capacities.

Be careful witrh Regs tho most organisations if you intend in using the tray back for comps require it to be of metal construction, covered with a sealed metal cover vented below in the case of a roll over the fuel will be contained and when righted the fuel is alowed to spill on the floor and vent so not to trap any fuel vapor that could be ignited.
It used to be the case that if you kept a truck cab then you could just bolt a tank on as there is a sealed bulkhead between the passenger compartment and the tank, this has changed. Also note that for any comps you must carry an MSA approved spill kit incase you lose any fuel to stop it harming the enviroment.
Lots of new regs!!
IF your doing it to make za pretend look a like competition vehicle then you can use what you like aslong as it meets road regs if road legal.

My mate built a tray back an used stainless steal tank i'll ask him were he got it Have a look at it on YouTube land rover v8 tray back it's silver give you a bit of a idea ad put the link up but this stupid phones not letting me

In that case any Ali tank with a pickup a built into a decent sized resovoir
Some people use a military series tank and and pickup assembly no point having a shiny bling tank as you have to cover it with ali sheet sealed cover

Regs as you require but if you build it to the specs laid out by alroc association of rover owners clubs click on the regs on the right hand side and go through to fuel tanks regs most of the regs follow msa regs and
Are stricter which means you make it like the rules say and nobody can argue the point

Ok, well as im planning on putting the fuel tank between the chassis legs just behind the bulkhead does that basically mean building a metal box around it first? Cheers
