Hi all I have just purchased a landrover freelander it appears that the gearbox is whineing and the prop has been taken off anyone out there know of quick fix a transmission specialist wants £700.00 to recon the orginal box and if the idr is knackered they want £1500 for a repair job.I only paid £795.00 for it.

take it back. you are looking at a bill of <>£2000. IRD, VCU & bearings. possible rear diff
