Hello

Disco went in to have all seals changed on transfer box as it leaked. £155 later and it has been done. Happy with that until it leaked again a day later!!
Garage says only thing it can be now is paper gaskets which means box needs stripping at a further £150........
Does this sound right?? Definitely ttransfer oil on front of box.

Please help as I don't want it leaking but don't want to be spending £300 to keep a leak......

Thanks in advance.

It seems to be coming from the front of box and quite high up. Only leaks if driven......
It is a 200. Sorry should have put that!:)

Update!!
Garage had it back and decided it is now gearbox oil..... Found oil on top of box and resealed inspection plate...... Leak still there.....
So now we are looking for a gearbox leak from high up?!
Anybody??

get a new garage, they sound like monkeys

it's pretty easy to see the difference between the oils.

Update!!
Decided to stop being lazy and get it up on a ramp myself. Stripped the tunnel out and removed a couple of bits and bobs...... Traced fresh oil up to back of gear selector to find it was running down spiggots that the bias springs sits on!!
Removed plate and springs and found that the oil had been coming up through the seal which was damaged due to the corroded ball on stick...... Was literally pumping out which driving! How the hell did they miss that???? Going to try and get new seals tomorrow and rebuild mid week. Will update again then.;-)

I completely agree..... Won't be using them again. I just can't believe that they took the tunnel out and missed it....... They said they had been under it and sealed a plate but must have done it with their eyes closed.....

Sealing the plate at bottom of tb is just silicone sealant nothin special.id see about a refund for the work they havent done
