I just picked my D1 up after having the leaking oil seal replaced on the transfer box.
It's a local independent who did the work, he also cleaned and adjusted the handbrake.
I could have done it myself, but I'm recovering from a hernia operation so didn't fancy rolling around under the truck.
He was impressed at the condition of the underside of the truck.
Need to sort out a new set of tyres now, I want to keep them pretty standard, any recommendations on good road/snow type tyres.
I don't intend taking it on any serious offroading.

Goodyear wrangler HP all weather, had them on mine for a few years now and I think they are superb, I don't do any off road driving as such but I do take it out to Greece each year where it has to deal with some of the worst roads imaginable up in the mountains and around the remote villages, I've never had any problems, I find they are also very good in the wet and nice and quiet on the motorway, a good all round tyre for less than £100.

I'd second the Goodyears for mainly on road use - When we bought SWMBO's D1, it came with them on, in 245/70R16, and they were very good..... but.... given she goes off road every day, then when they were worn out, we put BFG's on - same size though.

At the time my D1 had Michelin cross climate 235/70R16 on, and they were crap in comparison to the goodyears - and the ride is unbelievably better on the 245's o_O .... so ......

As above, Goodyear Wrangler HP, with a soft grippy rubber so no slipping, sliding or skidding on wet roads, the only time my ABS operates is when braking when snow and ice is the road.
The tyre walls look a but soft so you think there’s a slow puncture but there isn’t, i’m use to that as I had Goodyear GT 4 tyres again all weather, again soft rubber so was getting around 24k miles on a set

I had Goodyear's on my Terrano and must admit, they were good tyres.
I will look into them.
Where do you get them for less than £100?

Just found them for £85 each. I will get those.

Managed to get a set of Goodyear's fully fitted for £365, the old tyres started to break up.
Mind, they were 26 years old and had been sat in the same spot for 13 years.
