I have just replaced the tracking rod in our 1996 P38. I have just been to 2 tyre dealers who say that they cannot adjust the tracking and it must go to a "specialist " ??????
Does anybody know why ???

had the same on an xj i had. they have to align the front to the rear and make sure it is all true with the body. this is what i was told by the dealer.

cos they don't know what they are doing.

I had a kwik-fit try and tell me the same a year or so back. I just laughed and walked out. They've never had any trade taken in by me since.:D

Cos its not a fiesta, mondeo ect if you just changed rod end it wont be seized and you dont even have to jack it up just crawl under. wouldn't trust them to adjust my windscreen washers as for letting them loose on steering no chance.
