Track Rod End!!

Hi all,

Hopefully pick someones brain, the disco failed it M.O.T on a couple of things, nothing major but one being the nearside front track rod end, without sounding a thicko, LH or RH thread?????????? Anyone shed any light which one i need please. :doh:

Near side track rod end is RHT on a D1 and the drag link end is LHT.

Hi Matt, on the rods you need three rh thread and one left hand thread ball joints. On the steering rod at the front of the axle you need one of each (L & R) and on the tie rod at the back you have 2 right hand thread ones.

Chances are if one has gone the others won't be far behind.

Good point Biglad
Did all 4 on my 300tdi plus new clamps.
Hardest part was getting the old ones off big vice and bigger stilsons
Dont forget to get the tracking done after you change them
