Towing Socket re-wire

At some point in my cars past life, the owner has cut off the plugs for the towing leaving both LIVE.

How can I disable the current wiring and run some fresh stuff? Brought a new socket and put a few meters on the back of it but dont know where to run it to

.

Usualy wired ito the rear lights

Just collecting the stuff to do my P38 at the moment, with this 12N loom plug is behind RH light cluster, 12S the other side, got some great info from vaughanwilson in a thread yesterday on connectors from simtecuk website, not sure if classic uses similar, many years since I had mine.
