As above, I'm looking for some good used recovery equipment. At present I have very little and I am looking to volunteer for the LZ International rescue up here in the North East as there are few who are registered up here.

Cheers fellow Landy folk :)

My mate works for a big engineering company that throws the lifting straps away at a certain age . they are usually like new . about 12 or15 foot long and rated for 20 ton i think . he charges a fiver each . should I ask him if he can get some for you

Forget straps!!

A nylon 24mm rope 8meter is perfect because if you half it 4 meters is usable! They are about £40/45 but I've had my first rope for 8 years and God knows how many times it was abused and used for recovering comp motors that was stuck weekend I weekend out. A strop, a lifting strop is for winching about as good as a chocolate tea pot of something is really stuck.

Have you got a tow rope yet? I have got one for sale never used it so have bought a strap instead which takes up a bit less room.
If i remember right its 24mm nylon (so has a bit of stretch) think its about 9m so if you double it at 4.5m makes it legal for on road towing. I can also throw in 2 unused 22m bow shackles.
