So I removed my towbar and got on with a strop wrapped around the crossmember for a while. But then I came up with this for a customers car and now I've fitted one on mine. Customers car required cutting the number but mine was ok because of the body lift.

What have you all done? I would have fitted Jate rings but the holes in the chassis have bolts siezed into them.

i spent hours with a different improvised "drivers" a shed load of WD40 and the heaviest lump hammer i could find to drive the old bolts out when I took my tow bar off...

You can get a proper bracket for the rear, they are about £20 and will take a standard recovery eye or a 4 bolt fixing for a NATO hitch

The side plates and receiver seem to give plenty protection to the tank, though I will, at some point, fit an extra steel plate tank guard ..

If your bolts are seized in just drill them out. I had to do it to my dads car. Took about 30 mins of drilling on one side stepping up bits but that was with a cordless drill. If it was a power drill would have had it done in 10 mins if that.

I will get the bolts out when I get a spare min or 2. Some nice ideas there but the tank guards with removable hitch are fookin expensive for what they are. The plates I had made from 10mm steel cost 15 quid, if you don't new to tow I think it's a no brainer....
