Hi all great weather for getting under motor,,well here goes,,we bought disco 1994 diesel runs good but would not drive forward but would reverse, autobox...so we took out g/box and put in another the same but used, used but good.put in new torque converter,,,now runs good but no drive at all...do i need bleed torque converter or am i missing something ,with prop shafts off the drive wont even turn gearbox..at a loss please help if any ideas..how do you check torque converter?is there special way to bleed autobox??

I don't know the setup on the Disco, but either you're unlucky & have 2 faulty boxes, have low fluid level or possibly some faulty electronics. Find out whether this car had a gearbox ecu fitted & whether its good. Also check the selector mechanism to make sure it works properly.

torque covertor must allways be fitted to gear box first not engine ,wasnt the torque convertor fault to start with ,clutch a more likely
