Hi all
I am still messing around with my V6 Freelander which I aquired as a project back in October Last year.
Progress has been slow due to a number of things not least of all knocking myself out whilst working on the thing!!

Anyway now some sense has returned I am getting ready to replace the torque converter and gearbox. I have checked the RAVE manual as I think the torque converter has to be lined up correctly. All the RAVE manual says is align the marks on the the drive plate with the torque converter:confused:. I must be a bit visually challenged as I cant see any marks so am looking to see if anyone out there can advise me as to what I should be looking for. I ve already made a cock of myself once by knocking myself out so I'd hate to make another cock of myself by getting something simple wrong.

Thanks Guys

It's referring to an alignment mark that you should have put on yourself to aid refitting of the drive plate to torque converter bolts.

OOps seems a good comment!! however not withstanding that ommision there has to be a setting after all the factory fit the thing from scratch. clearly there is a gap in the seration around the converter that acts on the sensor bolted to the gearbox. This I would guess would be a point of reference. Any one out there with the answer or am I doomed to trying and moving 90 degrees until it starts?

It'll be a reference for the turbine speed sensor to measure gearbox input speed so not a timing mark.

Thanks for your response Chaser I will get it back together, replace the timing belts and hopefully have a bit of fun in it.
