aye, well, the landy appears to be running, I've got a new innertube for my broken wheel (£15 ffs!) and trewy's money is in the post. A noo battery will have to wait til after easter though as I have no money spare now.

I woulded helped out more but I had to get to work. If you wanna test the earth then put a jump lead straight from the battery negative to the starter earth. If it starts it's an eart problem. If it doesn't then it aint

Why did you not just start your slitty and then use that to jump start your landy in the first place?

are you using the correct grade of oil in your engine? Oil is thicker when cold so therefore more power is needed to start your engine. To add to this a battery loses it's power when cold, hence the fact they are measured in cold cranking amps.

It sounds to me like your battery is fubar'd though.

cos I had to get a tow to move my landy to a place where I could get another vehicle close to it.

Yeah I thought it was just SNAFU landy battery sndrome, but it's a bit TARFUN.
