Seen a few snorkels fitted to Discovery TD5s but I've got a few questions on the practicalities, I have addressed most but interested in others views:
1/ What do you do about the dump valve at the bottom of the air box and the stupid rubber cover / 1 way valve which keeps falling off ?
2/ Have you sealed up the other hole in the bottom of the air box, small square one ?
3/ Should the air compressor be moved higher up or even inside the Disco ?
4/ Do you extend the rear diff breather ?
5/ Do you remove the viscous fan ?
6/ Is there a waterproof connection between the air box and the inside front wing, the standard one is not waterproof ?
7/ Anything else done to the electricals higher up in the engine bay ?

Maybe they are a good thing, been a bit damp in Suffolk recently - not sure yet especially as I passed 2 Discovery's abandoned in water which was not particularly challenging.

Just fitted mine!

1) seal it off with silicone
2) yes
3) No - i didn't - mines been swimming and is fine!
4) yes - Flatdog uk do a wicked breather kit!
5) Debatable - i have a firned who has said take it off its not needed and takes up power, some say keep it - personally i've kept mine!
6) the snorkel comes with a plate which attaches to the ouside of your inner wing, a screw and a rivit is used to create a "sandwich" between the inner air box connecting and the new snorkel.
7) unless you drive in water that is far to deep and drive like a pr*t then there is nothing really in there to get dunked! the ecu is what people panic about but mins been fine and its been in as deep as i dare take it (bonnet level)

My snorkel came from the LR parts Centre and its a good product with a good step by step guide!
