Hi, I've just got a wading kit for my 300tdi Disco and it came with a breather plate for the timing belt cover. The only problem is I can't see where it goes! It looks like it should go in place of the pump inspection cover but mine has air con and the tensioner bracket is there. Any ideas on this or any other holes I need to plug in the timing belt cover for 'wading'? Many thanks, Marc

air con tensioner does go in same place so you cant fit that bit but can drill tap some other part of cover

Thanks, yes the breather not the plug. If it's all sealed then do I need a breather?

Kind of yeh if you are going through water with the inside of the case being hotter than the water it will create a vacum and suck water through your gasket in the case then its trapped in there

what i plan on doing is drilling and taping a plug and using a a srcrew in hose fitting and taking it up and out the road i figure if i use clear hose i can also check for signs of oil without removing it
