thud underneath

Hello, I wonder if someone can solve this. I have a 1999 2.0 xedi , every time I change gear , I push the clutch in and let off the gas, there is a thud from underneath. If I accelerate then de-accelerate it thuds. I am trying to nurse it at the moment in case something happens which could be expensive. ( probably will be anyway) any ideas????

engine mount, exhaust mount, prop mount, ird mount, gearbox mount, bushes, cracked chassis to name but a few...

Rear diff ( front mounting ) is another one to check.

The same happened to me on my 98 Freelander. (When you changed gears and released the clutch there would be a loud thud!) Turns out it was the Centre Rear Diff Mount (as Sparky said above) which was £16 for the part. - it was repaired at the same time as other work so not sure the labour costs but it wouldnt of been more than 1/2 hour I would say.

After this was fixed it was completely fine.

You can do it yourself, just safely support the diff then slacken the bolts on the other 2 mountings ( you can remove one of the rear ones if you like ) remove bolts from front mounting and by moving diff about using a crowbar, remove front mounting. ( be careful not to over stretch other two mountings while using crow bar )
I changed mine, and I,m a sparky.

I concurr, most likely to be centre/front rear diff mount. Second suspect would be the VCU mounts.
