I'd never heard of one of the above before today so please bear with me. I've only been doing very short journeys for quite a while now in the car but when I returned from another one today I saw steam coming from the engine bay and saw pink residue under the throttle body. There is water leaking from the underside of the throttle body and I've been told it's a heater. I think this has been leaking for a while but it finally went pop today.
Now to the question.... do I have to take the throttle body off to repair or change the heater or can it be done in situ? I've looked online and I can see repair kits for about 20 quid, are these ok or should I go for the pukka one?
I'll appreciate any advice on this, thanks.

Sorry, one more thing, how the hell do you get them hose clips off from the throttle bodies?

Most people bypass it out of the system, one less thing to leak and not needed in our climate.
Ok, I have to ask the question now, how do I bypass the heater? Which 2 pipes do I have to loop together? I've been trying to download a RAVE manual without success.
Cheers,

I assume you have a thor engine as it a 4.6 vogue, in which case take the two pipes of the throttle heater and use a pipe as a joiner, no 3-4 on the pic redrawn by our own Saintv8
