Just a quick question for you guys in the know...

What is the thread size n type on the cruise control 'off' brake pedal switch?

I've tried research to no avail:(

....Reason being I'm after a brake pedal switch to screw in where the cruise control switch use to be.... it's positioned slightly lower on the pedal box for easy adjustment/replacement without having to remove the dashboard lower cowl/panel, and the pedal box frame for the 'proper' place for the brake pedal switch is fubar'd...

This is for the bobtail...cruise control has been removed anyways.

I bought an m12 1.5 threaded switch, but that doesnt fit ~(thread too fine):monitor_punch:

Most likely UNC on an old chariot.

Thanks.

I am ashamed to admit I was schooled/grew up in metric, so struggle with the imperial thing.

The M12 brake switch I bought 'looks' and measures almost the same as an original cruise control switch I fished out of my parts boxes...only difference being the M12 thread has a finer pitch....

So, next daft question....

What size UNC is that likely to be?

Just a suggestion, brake light switch off an old Mini. If nothing else it has a long threaded bit and a pair of locknuts for either side of the bracket. In fact pound to a penny it will screw right in.

Thanks.

7/16 UNC=11.1mm
1/2 UNC=12.7mm
