Hi all,

I'm trying to locate 4 of those push-in popper screws, for my 2 seat panels, and have been to LR in Ascot who can't help. They tried to sell me some 4-piece bits of kit that don't even fit the two location holes in their own diagrams (they were something to do with the CD autochanger).

I've looked on Ebay and have done a search on this site, to no avail. I was going to try Halfords tomorrow, but won't be holding my breath.

Yeah, thought of that, but I'm leaving Friday morning 1st thing for the Czech Republic, and I don't think I'll have the time to go to a scrapyard. Plus the closest one is t'other side of Wokingham, too far to go unless its a weekend!

I'll try a motor factors if Halfords don't do 'em. If no luck there, it'll be bluetack as a temporary measure!

you got a piccy?? i've got a load of shi..;ah mean bits lying about .mighr have what yer looking fer.

No piccy tonight, and it'll probably be too late tomorrow, knowing the PO delays at this time of year!

The head of the popper is about 8mm in diameter, and the length is about 12mm. The shank of mthe popper has that kind of 'barbed' appearance, so that it locks into place once fitted. And are a pain in the butt to remove, as they will either flick into the next dimension or break between the shank and the head. Either way they become unusable.

One of the poppers I remember was grey, odd, as the panel is black, but I guess these things are generic. I remember thinking as I levered it out, "that's an odd colour", just as it disappeared into next doors field.

If anyone knows the part number, I can pop into LR Ascot and tell them their job.

290063304572 ebay.
wasnt someone looking for one of these panel clip removal tools recently?

Here you go, this one is grey, but the other one I had (that popped into the next dimension) was black.

Ormus found the real name for these, christmas tree clips, fir tree buttons, so at least I have a way of aptly describing them now!

Halfords don't do 'em. Fat lot of good they are.

Off to try Motolec at lunchtime.

the ones i have have what could be described as a double head on them. they slide into a slot on the panel. you could trim the outer head of with a knife to make them like wot you need.
if you want a couple pm me yer addy and i'll post them later today.

Cheers, I think I have the P/No for the correct part now (MXC3130PUB). I'm checking with LR now (when I can get through; must be lunchtime!) and will let you know.

Hi Slob,

Back from me trip abroad (nice drive BTW). Got to LR Ascot this morning, the ones they have are the wrong type and there is nothing more they can do . I don't know if you can see it in my piccy, but the ones from the panel have a rectangular end (the business end) and the rectangular section goes all the way to the underside of the head. Therefore, if the ones you got, have a round or square shank, they won't fit. I don't mind trimming the double head off them, but I suspect they have a round or square shank section.

Let me know if they don't, much appreciated.
