The other side of sanity!!!
It may be a stupid question but I'm curious. With regards to the roads used as public footpaths and national trails, is there vehicular access to them or not, or is it best to check with the local authority/council??

I've probably got more questions than a 5 year old at this moment in time!!

Most RUPPs were lost to us when the NERC bill came in a few years back. Generally the olny lanes with vehicular rights are BOATs (signposted as 'By-way') .........tho' occasionally in some counties there are odd 'Rights of way' with vehicular access, but more often than not these are old RUPPs.

Your ROW Officer is your best bet for a definitive answer.

Ok, for example, I go away for the weekend to . . . . Cambridge for some laning. As its the weekend how do I get access to the definitive maps at council offices 'cos we all know council offices don't open weekends???

Or do I need to be more forward thinking with the whole planning thing, 'cos I can see myself getting totally submersed in, and addicted to this.

I agree, you will definitely need to check it out before you go as "sorry, i didn't know it wasn't open to traffic" probably won't stop plod crushing the motor, especially as most of the info is available on line 24/7 anyway.
