Oh that one... heard it all before :D
Yet, one thing does concern me with the usual - remarks - about the Freelander.....

Whilst P38 and L322 owners tend to deride and degrade them, at least the Freelander took part and proved is mettle in the Camel Trophy.....the P38 never did 'prove' itself in an overland competition....the L322 did in the G4, but it was heavily watered down compared with the Camel Trophy....

So the Freelander has rightfully earned its place in the Green Oval stable......

Don't worry, you will soon be a proud owner of the 'ultimate' Land Rover to be spawned from Solihull although forcefully conceived in Bavaria and you too will refer to the Freelander by it's proper name.
Your secret is safe with us....;)

funny enough i useto own a hippo and was looking at the L322

when i've been greenlaning in the hippo and whilst following other landies i knew due to the restricted ground clearance i would struggle to keep up

alas that was the case

also wanted something that was also more refined, more capable of going off road, having the adjustable suspension etc

looking into the ins as a major factor

in the end i went for a D3 ,

seems on reading the rangies and disco 3-4 suffer with the same problems

suspension , compressor etc

couldn't believe how nice the d3 was down the motorway compared with a hippo

the test drive of the rangie was really nice, but at the end of the day it was the ins that put me off

hopefully i won't get lynched posting in here, lol

Well Saint was a thoroughly nice chap but a bit upset as he no longer owns an L322. On a somewhat related note, I do! Thanks Ant, I'll enjoy her for many years to come :)

Well done, you had better look after it or he may come after you:D:D:D:D:p
at least you have on with some known history and no bull.
When does Ant start his counselling sessions :D:D:D

you could always sell him your gaylander !!:D
On another note, congratulations, it is not often you get to buy a vehicle with such documented service history, your new L322 is basically the entire how to section on landyzone !

Happy for you. Just need to fix the niggles now, the traditional first year of Rangie ownership.
Already on it. Within a few minutes of getting her home last night I'd ordered a new key and a couple of interior trim pieces as they were cheap. Next will be the torque convertor (which I'll hopefully get ordered today) and once that's done I will start making my way through the list.

Sorry Saint, I'm still not sure about those bull bars... I might use it as an excuse to upgrade the front end like I've seen others do.

Final job will definitely be an android install. I'm a web and software developer so have had android computers and head units of various flavors in my freelander for many years. I need my touchscreen toys back!

daft question but do u guys also use the iid diagnostics or do u use something else

seems the discos and rangies suffer from the same problems,

i.e. suspension and electrical gremlins :rolleyes:

along with if the landy drops over night in trying to establish where the bloody leak is,

allcomms is my favourite for that year, IID tool appears good and icarsoft at £100 might be an option.
Regarding the icarsoft
https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/td6-airbag-light-diagnostic-tool.311198/#post-3928176

did buy myself the iid , was a bit pricy at £400 quid but has paid for itself already

seeing land rover want £100 quid every time they plug it in

as landies are getting more complicated i don't think u can diagnose them without one, as the rangies and discoveries seem to share a lot of the same complicated equipment

Thats ok then, can you use the IID tool without changing the license to an L322?

know it's an extra 60 for another licence

however i'm not sure if it can be used on other models of lan driver or just fixed to the D3

maybe it may have a limited access to read dtcs but not altering settings etc

will email iid and see what they say ref it's range of use

this is one of the settings i used to check and alter all my suspension
