Hang on a minute! How do I turn those logo lights on?

Oh, and she's gone to a very good home - I promise I'll take proper care of her!
Thats a good point, I haven't seen them come on for ages come to think of it.....

They are wired into the puddle lamps in the front doors under the door bin....pop them out and make sure I plugged them back in after door the locks a couple of years ago.

If they are plugged in, unplug and put 12V to them direct from a battery and see if they illuminate, if they do, check the puddle lamp fuses, if they don't , their own bulb is fecked...they were like £12 or something from ebay!

Cry......sob......whimper.......

At least you know where she has gone, and you will be able to see her on here now and then. Also with you on speed dial, to answer any questions, @Pluribus will be able to keep her maintained in the manner to which she is used. Which may be a double edged sword ;)

Well I did have work to do tomorrow on some client software, but I think I might suffer some "unforeseen upgrade problems" meaning I have to go offline for a while so I can get these working :D

I was looking at these for the freelander but never got round to buying them. Yet another bonus on this car!

did buy myself the iid , was a bit pricy at £400 quid but has paid for itself already

seeing land rover want £100 quid every time they plug it in

as landies are getting more complicated i don't think u can diagnose them without one, as the rangies and discoveries seem to share a lot of the same complicated equipment
LR dealers offer a fixed price diagnostic which is none intrusive, as in the sense they will have a look and tinker but not strip the engine down etc. Reason being they will only rebuild it with new parts. The cost is fixed and caters for 1 hour labour including diagnostic. They will then tell you what they would do to fix it. You have the opportunity to walk or drive away. that's not bad really as you get their knowledge and experience of the vehicle for a fixed cost. Time is propper time and no breaks or pretending to work on it. If yer stuck it's an option.

So when are you taking delivery Ant ?

when i had my brake servo done on a recal, they offered the diagnostics for £100 plus vat

that was only to diagnose , not even lifting the bonnet

i refused the diagnostics

however after they bought it back , low and behold there was a print out , which they call a health check

they diagnosed a new turbo at a cost of 3 k , that was excluding labour

it was actually a sticking turbo actuator arm

which actually cost me £25 to have a special code downloaded onto my iid in order it would motor on and off at start up , along with some wd40 , no fault codes at all after that indicating a faulty turbo

with them being a specialist they should have known that, not guessing and routing for the far more expensive option

like urself i've been dealing with dealers for over 25 x years and are one of the biggest rip off merchants

have a local garage who charges £45 per hour, is an ex land rover mechanic , doesn't charge u for the so called sundries on an invoice

land rover labour costs are also outrageous, think it's £120 per hour plus vat

one of there biggest rip offs is them quoting to remove the body to replace the front and rear cam belts , which can be done in 5-6 hours without taking the body off

also a turbo can also be replaced without the body being removed

that's why i got the iid , as every time u even want something turned on, its £100 plus the vat

then if it needs parts as you've said that's all on top

i do however get genuine parts for brakes, engine etc

hope that didn't come across as rude as i know u know what ur talking about,

Well I've ordered a load of parts - including all the bits you mentioned - and a few other trim pieces too, so she is being fixed and looked after. No need to worry :)
