I have just dug a 2x2x1' hole in my drive. I am going to put a 1" thick steel bar across the bottom of the hole and wrap some chain around it with 13mm thick links on it. Then concrete the whole thing in leaving a portion of the chain exposed to wrap round the axle or chassis or something. Then put a beefy momma of a lock on it.

Not sure on the lock yet as that would seem to be a weak point.

I understand that if someone wants my 90 they are going to take it. But this will hopefully slow them down some. Anyone with a gas axe could have it away pretty quickly but hopefully they'll draw enough attention to make it not worth the risk.

Any opinions or guidance on how to improve it is appreciated :)

maybe use more than 1 chain, eliminate single points of failure and secure your vehicle at two independant points, with 2 independant chains :)

Hahahaha!! Love it Dr.Evil. I BLOODY WISH!!

Looking at hardened steel bike chains in the £100 ballpark

Strange_days...

I am thinking of that. The chain i have is really long so i can maybe loop it round a couple of times to have several loops leaving the concrete.

Also i am going to put a second one closer to my house asap. I am putting one close to the road first so they'll have to sit in the open to do their dastardly deeds

That sounds a bit extreme. How about a huge pit you can drive in and then pull over a fake top with gravel glued onto it?

Or stick a bunch of bushes around it.. i'll have a think and get back to you

Back..

big polytunnel.. drive in and stick some tommy plants in the front.. bobs your uncle. Nice and cheap setup and you can tell the missus that you have taken up gardening so she doesn't have to complain about all the time you spend on the landy. :high5:

No mention of cost on the site, but I guess if you have to ask... You can't afford it 😞

Not only that, but if you're in the 'don't need to ask' category, you probably ain't short of space to keep your cars! :D
It'd also have to be a helluva car to warrant spending that sorta money on security devices!

I picked up some old chains from a skip lorry at my local scrappy for £20.
When I poured the slab for my double garage I set the chains into the foot thick concrete towards the back with some rebar as extra anchor and now use them to winch my trailer into the garage (the slab is on a slight slope and pushing 650kgs empty trailer up hill by hand is a tad tiresome) and then wrap the chain around the axles with a fook off big lock to stop the pikeys nicking it.
I also used to lock my Fireblade to the same for the same reasons.
Cheap and effective.
