Mum n Dad just got back from holiday in ICELAND,
took a couple of pics for me.

Mum said the only vehicles allowed on the "black routes" or whatever the technical name is. Are vehicles with studded tyres. The only vehicles allowed on the "Black Routes" without studded tyres are the Rescue vechiles which are ALL defenders.

Cue the list of people now asking tyre questions on this thread! ... Looking at them I'd say they were bigger than standard :D:D
Top stuff.

Indeed.
Wow what size tyres are they?
Will they fit my defender?
Do i need a lift kit?
:p

I agree definatley bigger than standard:D

douglas motors in poole built one as a show piece a couple of months back almost the same as that but in yellow it had the same arches and 40" tyres, great as a show piece but impractable in every way

crap offroad, too wide for greenlanes,a bugger on the road, cant park it in any supermarket as you need two spaces, looks amazing but thats about it

I remember reading an article on the guy in iceland who makes these really serious mods needed obviously!
Even down to having special cast steering box drop arms made.
Was in the days when LRO mag was a good read:D

Looks a bit like this one that was parked outside the LR Experience in Solihull.
