Hi everyone, I have a problem with my defender 90. When driveing I have the sensation of not being in full control of the steering, i.e. tending to wonder ever so slightly. I have fitted new rear chasis to axle bushes, all new track rod and steering ball joints and still have this strange sensation.Any thoughts would be welcome.

I had this with mine, I had changed the rear wheel bearings and left too much play in them when adjusting them up.

Try getting hold of the wheels 1 by 1 and giving them a good push and pull from side to side.

You should not be able to move them more than a tiny bit.

Once I readjusted the bearing, it seemed to be OK - touch wood.

I've just re-read this post. Before you do anything else, get yer tracking done. I was only 1mm out (which is well within tolerances) when I replaced my track arms but it made a hell of a difference to the steering.
