The new Defender

To be fair to the OP there is an article in the June issue of LRM which quotes John Edwards, Land Rover's brand boss as saying all-new defender is due in 2015.

The article goes on to say that in a separate article in Autocar that Land Rover is "considering" using the DC100 looks for a road going entry vehicle, based on the Evoque platform. But it also suggests a separate, tougher, utility vehicle built on a ladder frame chassis.

The author of the article in LRM is our own, newish member Dave Phillips. Perhaps he can share more- clear up any confusion.

It will be like the original mini to the new one, the new one will be 'better' but I'll prefer the old one IMO

Last thing I read on this was they are releasing the DC100 in 2016 as a new 'softroader' along with a new Defender model which will have a different name likely based off the Evoque/Disco Sport chassis sporting a similar set up to baby Cherokee Jeeps. Along with 7 other various models aswell.

Going to be an interesting couple years for LR to say the least!

I do think it looks awesome and will be cool however its not somthing I believe anyone should even try and compare to a Defender.
