hahaha, yeah i didn't think of that. isidentally i don't suppose you would happen to know what the defender's dash is made of and what would happen if i just drilled through it? i mean i could go with the ash tray idea, the Pez dispencer is hardly a must have. although my neice loves it

Ash tray tops med of reeeeeeeeeeeeely reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeely hard plastic. most of the dash is sheet steel covered with leatherettey type stuff or 1/2" of softy yet hard foamy stuff an leatherettey stuff. Most of it's ok fer self tappers.

Try maplins, I brought a clamp that will hold cam corder and camera on dash. It looks like a large peg.

There are two types, one with the bendy arm and one that has just an adjustable screw for cameras that is rock solid on the dash.

Clamp mine in middle of dash in open ash tray drawer and the underside of dash.

basically, yes.
I added a bit of angled ali and some springs to make it quickly detachable and provide a bit of vibration damping (have a close look at the photo).
