L322 The disc installed is not a map dvd

i get this fault message on the screen when I try to use the sat nav function on my 2005my with touch screen system. I have tried four different discs, and have taken the drive unit apart and cleaned the laser. Nothing changes, just the same message every time.

Does this mean the dvd unit itself is broke? I could pick up a used one for a couple of hundred but i would prefer to get my one working if possible. Anyone ever fixed this particular problem. It is not unique to RR but I have yet to find a definitive answer on the web..

I'm not sure if this is correct however when mine happened on a 06 my motor was nearly 3 years old i took it into landrover and they told me they had done a reset on the unit. Not sure how but it worked and only took 2 mins.

I solved the problem by purchasing a new DVD drive from eBay. £150 and from a three year newer model.
