Discovery 4 Landmark 2016. Help please! When I go into reverse the info screen doesn't change from whatever it was last on to show the reverse camera. No error message in the info screen or on the dashboard display so no camera image whatsoever. The reverse lights, wing mirror dips and parking sensors work when selecting reverse and the car will go backwards and no reported errors on anything. On the info screen there is a camera setting but it just displays a camera sign and a settings option (see image below) but neither do anything when touched.

My local garage had a look but think it's a software problem (presumably they mean in the ECU?). If the camera had failed wouldn't the info screen change but not show any image rather than stay on the radio or maps display?
Can the rear camera be disabled in the ECU system does anyone know and can it be reset via the OBD port? The battery was changed a while ago but wouldn't have thought that should lose any critical settings (although the one touch close windows operation did get lost and needed resetting!)

It's almost like the car doesn't know it's got a camera installed. Haven't tried just replacing the camera as no spare. Any ideas anyone please?

Yes it got fixed. Eventually the garage just tried a replacement camera and that was all it was- now works fine. As it was a used vehicle warranty claim I think they didn't want to buy another camera just in case! Still odd that the info screen didn't change display previously with the camera fault when reverse was selected, but maybe it is looking for a video signal to switch.
